The Paris prosecutor’s office indicates this Friday to open a preliminary investigation for “moral harassment” targeting former Secretary of State Nathalie Elimas. Friday March 11, Mediapart revealed that the General Inspectorate for Higher Education and Research (IGESR), responsible for an internal investigation into the functioning of the cabinet of the former member of the government, had sent a report to the prosecution. This administrative investigation was opened at the end of January after several accusations of harassment from former collaborators of Nathalie Elimas.
“I had no contact with the prosecutor, it’s the press that tells me”reacts Nathalie Elimas to Release. According to her, the IGESR report would be “dependent” and would not have taken his comments into account. “I bring [dans ces observations] physical evidence”, assures the former Modem MP for Val-d’Oise. who adds: “I want to go to justice, the real one, so that the presumption of innocence and the rights of the defense are respected. I am serene. These people who claim to be victims of harassment have not filed a complaintshe adds. It’s strange.” She herself filed a complaint last Saturday for “slanderous denunciation”a week after his departure from the government, on March 5.
In January, half a dozen former collaborators of Nathalie Elimas had testified to Freed. “We show that we are fighting against school bullying and we are harassed morning, noon, and evening”confided one of them. “She is paranoid, has no self-confidence, explained another. She is afraid that people are against her. It is: “You are with me or against me.” She’s into the conspiracy theory all the time.”
According to our information, around forty employees were heard as part of this internal investigation: former members of the cabinet, press advisers, but also drivers or secretaries of the ministry.
“Serious” and “damning” testimonies
This number is denied by Nathalie Elimas. Which specifies: “They [les inspecteurs, ndlr] have gone very far. People I don’t know, drivers or secretaries of my collaborators, were interviewed. They had no hierarchical link with me. […] It’s incredible.”
In mid-February, a pre-report submitted to Prime Minister Jean Castex mentioned testimonies “serious” and “overwhelming”. According to Europe 1, the departure of the government of Nathalie Elimas would then have been mentioned. What the interested party refutes. “Which Minister Delegate would tell the Prime Minister that he refuses to resign? It does not exist. […] At no time did Jean-Michel Blanquer or Jean Castex ask for my resignation.
