This Thursday, May 12, a mother filed a complaint after discovering worms and whole nests on several new diapers from the Pampers brand. The latter wished to give us its right of reply on this case.

The surprise was total. A mother from Naintréa small town in the department of Vienne, was about to change her son’s diaper when she discovered that several nappies were infected with worms and by what resemble nests. These nappies came from a single package of the Pampers brand and they were brand new.

“I bought diapers for my son, with correct packaging, without holes. When changing him, I discovered a diaper filled with cellulose worms. The 32 nappies are infected either by worms or by nests”she confided to our colleagues from France Blue Poitou who relayed the case. After this discovery, the mother decided to react by sounding the alarm, because she said: My son’s health is non-negotiable”.

Pampers responds

Faced with the situation, Pampers, the leading brand in the baby diaper market, contacted us to exercise its right of reply. We take the case reported by this family very seriously. Baby safety is our top priority, which is why we have implemented very strict quality and safety controls in our factories and warehouses”, they declare.

According to them, at this stage, it would bean isolated case. “We have not received a similar complaint in the last few months. Furthermore, based on the information we have to date, it also appears that the product in question was manufactured on October 20, 2021. However, we are working with the utmost urgency to investigate all possible causes of this case,” do they report before adding to conclude: “For all parents who have questions, we are listening to them and invite them to contact our consumer service on 0 800 94 51 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..”

A complaint lodged

This Thursday, May 12, the Naintré family decided to file a complaint. The mother also notified the store where she purchased the package of diapers in question. The latter promises to withdraw the batch concerned bearing the reference: Pampers Baby-Dry Size 6, lot 1293451805. The international company’s consumer service and the Regional Health Agency have also been notified of the situation.
