US President Biden receives medication after his positive corona test, but the infection is not completely symptom-free. He sounds hoarse during a video conference, but he can work, according to the White House.
With a hoarse voice, US President Joe Biden spoke for the first time after his corona infection at a public appointment from domestic isolation. “I feel a lot better than I sound,” Biden said at the start of a virtual meeting with his business team, which he joined from the White House. The 79-year-old had tested positive for the corona virus on Thursday.
His spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre and White House Corona Coordinator Ashish Jha assured at a press conference that Biden’s symptoms remain mild and that he is doing better. 17 contact persons were identified and informed after the infection became known. Biden says he continues to work eight hours or more a day. He also wanted to remind Americans to continue to take the pandemic seriously and get vaccinated.
Presidential Physician Kevin O’Connor had previously announced that the US President’s treatment was proceeding satisfactorily. “His symptoms have improved,” said a letter released by the White House. Biden had had a slightly elevated temperature the night before, but it dropped again after treatment with acetaminophen. Biden continues to have a runny nose, feels tired and occasionally coughs. His levels are normal. Biden will continue to be treated with the Covid 19 drug Paxlovid.
