Presidential 2022: the president of the Federation of hunters supports Emmanuel Macron

Willy Schraen, the boss of the Federation of Hunters, said he would vote for Emmanuel Macron in the first round of the presidential election.

In an interview with Le Parisien, Willy Schraen, who represents more than a million members in France, estimated that the current head of state was carrying the hunters’ project.

“He should commit to compensation for game damage, local rural policing, traditional hunting… He will put all his energy into meeting our demands. I have his word. He did not disappoint me. No law or amendment that could damage hunting has been adopted in this five-year period. Each time we had a problem to settle with a Minister of Ecology, he intervened,” said Willy Schraen.

Dangerous candidates against the hunt

In this interview, the president of the Federation of hunters did not hesitate to criticize “the project” intended for the hunting of other candidates.

According to Willy Schraen, “Fabien Roussel saw the hunt” but he would call for a vote for “the best-placed left-wing candidate”. It is Jean-Luc Mélenchon or Yannick Jadot. But both “call for a ban on hunting”.

On the right, Marine Le Pen considers hunters as “service firefighters”, according to him. “She is the primary incarnated animalism (…) This party is against hunting with hounds,” he said.

As for Valérie Pécresse, the boss of the Federation of Hunters criticizes her for signing the regional charter for animals of the L214 association in 2021 which carries anti-hunting measures.

Finally, even if Eric Zemmour says he is in favor of hunting, Willy Schraen thinks that the Reconquest candidate will call for Marine Le Pen to vote in the second round.

The number 1 of the Federation of hunters will not influence the choice of its members. “Hunters do what they want. But I tell them “be careful”, “he hammered.
