Valérie Pécresse was on Friday traveling to Oyonnax, in Ain, on the theme of health. The Republican candidate who has tried to beef up her game, she who has stagnated in the polls for several weeks. To the point that doubts have begun to arise in recent days in his own camp about his ability to speak to the French during this campaign.

In recent days, his entourage had asked him to “split the armor and go to the front”, because for several weeks, the speech of Valérie Pécresse no longer really printed in the opinion. Traveling to Oyonnax, in Ain, on Friday, the candidate Les Républicains (LR) in the presidential election decided to be more offensive on two totem subjects of the right: authority and security. “I no longer support these attacks on mayors, police officers, gendarmes, firefighters, so I say this for attacks on people in authority and with public service missions, it will be a minimum sentence of one year, firm”, she launched in front of the crowd.

Third in voting intentions

A tone and a speech that pleased Paul, an activist for 40 years. “I think she has beefed up her speech well, it’s very positive on her part, she’s a woman who will be respected,” he thinks. Still, for Evelyne, candidate LR still has a good margin for improvement: “Perhaps there is a problem of eloquence in her way of expressing herself to unite the crowds”, she says. “She’s a personality a little more withdrawn, she needs to assert herself more and carry her ideas more.”

A necessity for Valérie Pécresse, if she wants to breathe new life into her campaign, she who now regularly comes in third position in terms of voting intentions.
