For the two evening results of the presidential election, France Télévisions is putting the dishes in the big ones. The public audiovisual group will launch a new device which required nine months of preparation. From 6:25 p.m. on Sunday, France 2 will offer a great electoral evening presented by Anne-Sophie Lapix and Laurent Delahousse. And this time, the journalists will not just be on set, they will evolve in a brand new setting which includes the hall and the corridors of the group building.
“The idea is to dedicate the hall of France Télévisions in complete transparency as a new plateau”, sums up Arnaud Vincenti, the artistic director of information for France Télévisions. “So that Jérôme Revon, the director, could film this hall, we imagined working with a cablecam. It is a camera which is suspended from four cables, it is the one found at Roland-Garros and during the final of the 6 Nations Tournament. We are going, like an architect, to pose monumental augmented reality. The creative gesture is above all to try intuitively to tell a story. For example, we are going to have these 12 candidates who will be suspended above Delahousse.”
“You have to tell a story as well as possible, with new technologies at the service of the background”
Among the other novelties deployed for this special evening: a touch screen, a connected LED screen, and augmented reality graphic overlays that will tell the important stages of the 5th Republic.
“We are at a time when verified information is always somewhat in doubt. Showing journalists and this information factory that is France Télévisions is a desire for transparency”, explains Arnaud Vincenti. “You have to tell a story as well as possible, with new technologies at the service of the background. And creating an information architecture with augmented reality is a way of renewing the story. It is also aimed at the youngest audience, used to these 3D writings in video games.”
For its part, France 3 will offer an edition of 19/20 present in several regions. The Franceinfo channel (channel 27 of the TNT) provides more than 18 hours of live Sunday, from 6:30 am. The interactive map of the Franceinfo site will allow you to follow the vote of the French, live, municipality by municipality.
