The activists of La République en Marche did not really appreciate Pierre Marionnet’s “blunder”. On Twitter, Éric Zemmour’s spokesperson passed off LREM activists towing in Mayenne for activists from Reconquête!, the party of the former polemicist.
A little misunderstanding. On Saturday, Éric Zemmour’s spokesman Pierre Marionnet confused his activists with those of Emmanuel Macron, causing the hilarity of Internet users. In one of his tweets, Pierre Marionnet indeed praises the motivation of the activists of the Reconquest party in the caption of a photo where we see two men towing. “A magnificent sun with an infectious good mood”, he comments. Only downside: the two men in his photo are actually two LREM activists.
This Saturday morning it was towing on the market of #Laval (53) under a magnificent sun and with a good communicative mood #RECONQUETpic.twitter.com/iaUMBuH7ob

“Identity theft”
The leaders of the presidential party immediately saw the deception and relayed this “identity theft”. “It’s not good when you don’t have activists in Mayenne,” reacted Vincent d’Agostino, one of the representatives of La République en Marche in the department.
Pitiful @PierreMarionnet !

A “sympathetic” and “republican” moment
Rémy Besson, Mayenne referent of En Marche, meanwhile described this “blunder” by Pierre Marionnet as totally “shameful”. “In my photo, we are exchanging our leaflets. It was a friendly and republican moment”, reacted the representative ofEric Zemmour in Mayenne. “It makes me smile! I wasn’t explicit enough: I’m giving them the point (to those who didn’t like his tweet),” he added, acknowledging that his tweet lacked clarity.
