preventive information campaign on transport and alternatives

Since Monday January 29, the Ministry of Transport has launched an information campaign in Paris and Ile-de-France entitled “Anticipate the Games”. Advertising posters promote the use of teleworking during the period of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, or, for those who will still have to or want to travel, encourage the use of bicycles or the use of carpooling.

The public authorities – including, now, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo – certainly ensure that everything will be ready in terms of public transport in order to transport 15 million visitors this summer: in December 2023, they have assured that the The offer which will be put in place from mid-July will be increased by 15% on average compared to a typical summer – and much more on the most popular lines.

However, the public authorities also explained that if a certain number of Ile-de-France residents could not come, as far as possible, to clog up traffic during this period, this would make things easier.

In this perspective, a website, anticipatejeux.fris also accessible in order to start anticipating travel: it offers an interactive map of the impacts of the Games on the roads and in public transport, advice for optimizing a journey, etc.
