Kaiserslautern in 1994: Christian (Camille Loup Moltzen) grows up in difficult circumstances, influenced by a father who works hard but also drinks and is violent. After his mother’s death, his aunt Juli (Svenja Jung) takes Christian and his siblings in, against his father’s wishes. Juli ensures that Christian is allowed to attend high school, but there he repeatedly encounters prejudice. His passion is football – especially 1. FC Kaiserslautern – and the music of Freddy Mercury. Christian stands between his aunt, who only wants the best for him, and his father, from whom he cannot emotionally separate himself.
