In “Ein Mops zum Fall in Love” (ZDF), the teacher Sarah receives animal support in choosing a partner. Sat.1 does the “Optician’s Check” and in “Self is the Bride” (VOX) Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds pretend to be a couple.

Teacher Sarah (Beattie Edmondson) is still overshadowed by her big sister. When Sarah’s grandma dies, she inherits grandma’s greatest treasure: Patrick, an unconventional pug. When a neighbor complains about Patrick, Sarah has to vacate her apartment. She accepts the offer of a colleague, gym teacher Becky (Emily Atack), and moves onto the small boat of Becky’s brother, who is working abroad for two years. Sarah’s grandma didn’t leave her Patrick without an ulterior motive. Single Sarah makes many acquaintances with Patrick in the park – other dog owners and the veterinarian Oliver (Ed Skrein) cross her path.

Editor-in-chief Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is young, successful and badass. Especially her assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) has to suffer from her despotic nature. When the Canadian misses the extension of her US visa, there is only one way to continue working in New York: Margaret has to marry an American. She spontaneously introduces Andrew as her fiancé. At first he refuses to play along with his boss. But after she promises to help the young man publish his book, Andrew agrees. But the immigration authorities are suspicious.
