On ZDF, the parents of a seriously ill girl have to make a risky decision. Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson flee from organ hunters in “The Island” (kabel eins). In the drama “Ökozid” (ONE), Germany is threatened with international criminal proceedings for climate sins.

Little Emily (Jasmin Kraze) falls terminally ill. Her parents, Michael (Christian Erdmann) and Nicole Wagner (Annika Blendl), ask the new CEO of a small pharmaceutical company, Dr. Julia Schemmel (Lisa Maria Potthoff) about the early release of a drug that is not yet ready for the market. Schemmel is to consolidate the company. The young company has to invest hundreds of millions of euros for each drug and plans to go public.

Believing they are survivors of a deadly plague, clones live in a hermetically sealed colony. They have no idea that they only serve as human organ stores. In addition, they are led to believe that they have won the lottery and are allowed to go to “the island”, the only uncontaminated place. When the clone Lincoln Six-Echo (Ewan McGregor) finds out what sick game is really being played, he tries to escape with his girlfriend Jordan Two-Delta (Scarlett Johansson).

Two women lawyers represent 31 countries in the Global South that are doomed without the support of the international community.
