Without being an expert in the Endless universe, we feel, from the first moments, thatEndless Dungeon is less harsh than its roots Endless Space, which readily addresses a more confidential audience. Thus, the plot seems to follow the Janitor, an unfortunate surface technician whose ship is caught up in a gravitational anomaly. Our makeshift protagonist crash-lands in an Endless ship, named after the ancient vanished Precursor civilization whose technology exceeds our wildest expectations. Janitor is the first of nine colorful playable characters, such as Fassie, dragon-bartender, Shroom, crypto-botanist, or Blaze, bandito pyromaniac. If this small band joins forces to escape from their prison of circumstances, two problems arise: the gravitational trap prevents any take-off, on the one hand, and death is not a deliverance either. Any death results in an immediate reconstruction of the individual unsoldered by the ship’s systems. This justifies our Sisyphean journey through the meanders of the space station.
