Two young police officers uncover an alleged suicide in “Friesland: Mörderische Tides” (ZDFneo). In “Super Twister” (Tele 5) tornadoes plunge America into fear and terror and the “secret of the flower island” is revealed on ZDF.

8:15 p.m., ZDFneo, Friesland: murderous tides, crime comedy

In the East Frisian province, the two police officers Jens Jensen (Florian Lukas) and Süher Özlügül (Sophie Dal) fight against minor crimes in the countryside. Jens is a somewhat slow-witted phlegmatic – a loveable slob. Süher is ambitious and pretty. She feels underchallenged in the tranquil little town. But when the young housewife Elfie Berger is found dead in her apartment and the murder is to be covered up as suicide by a higher authority, the two patrol officers exceed their authority and decide to investigate the matter themselves.

8:15 p.m., Tele 5, Super Twister, disaster film

Massive red tornadoes are forming across North America, heading toward the city of Heartfield. They pulverize everything they touch and turn it into pure gas. A group of young high school students are in weekend detention when the storms catch them by surprise. When tornadoes destroy the school and throw the city into chaos, the students are on their own.

In order to regain his peace in his native swamp, the ogre Shrek is persuaded by the evil Lord Farquaad to free the beautiful princess Fiona, who is being guarded by a dragon in a ruined castle. Shrek receives unwanted support from a talking donkey that attaches itself to his heels like a burr. But the fight against the evil dragon welds the two together – and Fiona also discovers her affection for Shrek.

8:15 p.m., 3Sat, the dead of Salzburg: witness murder, thriller

Double murder in a Salzburg hospital. The first victim, Olaf Schmidt, is – after a mysterious car accident – the badly injured driver of an important German politician. The second victim, Albrecht Edlinger, is a patient in the same hospital room. The professional execution of the crime draws suspicion towards a mysterious woman who is suspected of being connected to an intelligence service. The Bavarian commissioner Hubert Mur (Michael Fitz) sees the act in connection with the corrupt politician and his involvement in arms exports.

8:15 p.m., ZDF, Rosamunde Pilcher: The secret of the flower island, family melodrama

Amy Harding (Eva-Maria Grein von Friedl) has a big dream. She wants to make her grandparents’ neglected flower farm on the Scilly Islands bloom again. Because, despite all the effort, the business is not making enough money, her husband John (Christian Natter) decides to return to his old job. He accepts a position as professor of literature at the University of Plymouth. Ironically, however, Amy’s mother Maggie (Marie Theres Kroetz Relin) lives there. Amy and Maggie’s relationship is so strained that Amy decides to stay on the island. However, this decision becomes a stress test for Amy’s marriage.
