In “Landkrimi: Steirerstern” (Das Erste), the great love of a folk music singer is murdered. Thomas Gottschalk presents the “puppet stars” on RTL. In addition, the baby elephant “Dumbo” (Sat.1) conquers the skies in the circus.

8:15 p.m., The First, Country Crime: Steirerstern, Crime

Jana Skoff (Emily Cox), star of the folk music trio “Jana & die Lausbuam”, has fallen madly in love with the singer of an indie band and wants to start a new life with her. Then Alex (Anna F.) is found dead. As Commissioner Bergmann (Hary Prinz) and his partner Anni (Anna Unterberger) learn from their Spusi colleague Kofler (Christoph Kohlbacher), someone has insidiously blocked the vent of the oven in the bathhouse where the victim slept!

Here puppets rock the stage, marionettes enchant the jury, sock puppets make the audience laugh, large puppets and puppets provide shrill, funny and amazing moments. Puppeteers from all over Europe present their puppets and their world where everything is allowed. The same applies behind the curtain: normal was yesterday. Crazy is today. Who will be “doll star of the evening”?

After his war service, nothing is the same for former circus star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell). Business stagnated and he himself had to give up his career as a brilliant horseman due to the amputation of his arm. But ringmaster Max Medici (Danny DeVito) has an idea and lets Farrier train the baby elephant “Dumbo”, who soon demonstrates unexpected abilities – with consequences.

9:45 p.m., Das Erste, Homicide Istanbul: Decision in Athens, thriller

A narrow shopping street in Athens, a spontaneous dress rehearsal – while Sevim (Idil Üner) is waiting in front of the boutique, Clara (Alexandra Kolaiti), the 17-year-old daughter of her partner Steffen (Michael Rotschopf), disappears from the dressing room without a trace. When the local police don’t take Sevim’s missing person report seriously and Steffen seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth, she asks her ex-husband Mehmet Özakin (Erol Sander) for help.
