The BKA officer Ben (Kostja Ullmann) wakes up from an artificial coma after a failed mission. The bodyguard has to come to terms with the fact that he was unable to prevent the death of a girl. To recover, he goes to the Baltic Sea with his girlfriend Marion (Kristin Suckow). It is the first visit to his parents in years and at the same time a return to a place of painful memories. Back then, when he was still a child, there was a mysterious accident with his best friend Timmi (Ilja Bultmann), which Ben has been mourning ever since. To his astonishment, he now learns that the now grown-up Timmi (Felix Phönix Lehmann) is alive. He is in a hospital in a vegetative state.

Joe (Tom Hanks) is the head of a successful discount bookstore chain that opens a new branch around the corner from Kathleen’s small children’s bookstore. But there is still the Internet – and so nothing stands in the way of great love!

The violent death of a business lawyer confronts Nina Petersen (Katharina Wackernagel) and her colleagues with a complex case that goes back to the post-reunification period. Johannes Kellermann (Neithardt Riedel) is found shot dead in his villa. Initial investigations point to a robbery-murder. But when a manifesto appears in which a group admits to the murder and announces the “Death of Medusa”, the case takes an explosive turn.

The young Magdalena (Laura-Charlotte Syniawa) is one of those lost souls who trust Maximilian Bloch (Dieter Pfaff) and can rely on his unrestricted commitment. Magdalena is in the hospital because her body refuses to absorb food. The doctors can’t find any organic cause for her suffering, and even artificial nutrition doesn’t work. Bloch’s ex-wife Annegret (Eva Kryll), the doctor treating Magdalena, calls Bloch for help.
