“Shazam!” in Sat.1

With the magic word “Shazam!” (Sat.1) the teenager Billy turns into an adult superhero. In “Our Wonderful Years” (Das Erste), the factory owner Christel Wolf has to maintain her business and her family.

One day, the orphan boy Billy (Asher Angel) meets a magician who gives him mysterious powers. Once the teenager “SHAZAM!” calls, he transforms into an adult superhero (Zachary Levi). Together with his friend Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer), he tries out his newfound skills. What begins as harmless fun ends in deadly seriousness when the villain Dr. Sivana (Mark Strong) appears on the scene.

8:15 p.m., The First, Our Wonderful Years, drama series

Altena, 1967. With an iron fist, Christel Wolf (Katja Riemann) manages the family business “Vereinigte Metallwerke Altena”, which she saved from ruin after the former business relationship with the Nazis became public and her husband committed suicide. The factory now produces coin blanks on behalf of the Treasury; that’s how it secures half of Altena’s wages, with the hard, physical work being done by foreign workers from Italy and Greece for a long time – above all Matteo Morabito (Valerio Morigi).

It’s all or nothing: a candidate faces five clever minds in exciting duels to become “The Quiz Champion”. Only those who beat the experts in nutrition (Johann Lafer), sport (Franziska van Almsick), film and television (Bastian Pastewka), current affairs (Barbara Hahlweg) and in literature and language (Axel Milberg) in their special fields can win 100,000 euros.

In this edition, Janin Ullmann and Jeanette Biedermann compete in up to 15 rounds in a direct duel. Who shows fighting spirit and fitness? Who shows brains and skill? The winner can look forward to a prize money of 100,000 euros. Elton leads through the evening, Ron Ringguth comments.

8:15 p.m., ONE, the dead by the sea, thriller

The corpses of women are found in the dunes of Husum: they have been made up, have their hair done and have a tattoo – the victims are presented in a macabre manner. To the astonishment of her experienced colleague Mattern (Ronald Kukulies), the young detective Ria Larsen (Karoline Schuch) is given the management of the case. From now on, Ria not only has to face the public time pressure, but also assert herself in her department. Only colleague Michael Brandt (Christoph Letkowski) stands behind her. Police chief Bergmann immediately recognizes the handwriting of Eberhard Wernicke in the series of crimes, but he has been in prison for years and is no longer the perpetrator. Or is he pulling the strings from the psychiatric ward? Who is the copycat?
