The annual Cologne television session on Rose Monday traditionally takes place again in the venerable Gürzenich Cologne – in front of a sold-out audience, of course! And this year too, the who’s who of prominent speakers have registered for this big Rose Monday spectacle on the Erste: Guido Cantz, Bernd Stelter, “The President of the Session” alias Volker Weininger, Ingrid Kühne, Jürgen Beckers, Jörg Runge and Martin Schopps. The Cologne triumvirate will of course also be honored in Gürzenich.

8:15 p.m., ZDF, Night Shift: The calm before the storm, crime thriller

Curfew – Hamburg is in a state of emergency. A hurricane with wind force 12 is racing towards the city and in less than twelve hours everything will be under water. The permanent criminal service, led by Ömer Kaplan (Özgür Karadeniz) and his best man Erichsen (Armin Rohde), takes care of the socially disadvantaged in the areas built close to the water – where, as always, it gets the dirtiest. And as soon as the first drops of rain announce the approaching chaos, a prisoner truck collides with an animal transport truck. Two monkeys and the criminal Axel Krakoff (Shenja Lacher) escape.

8:15 p.m., kabel eins, Sherlock Holmes: Game in the Shadows, detective thriller

At the end of the 19th century, several bomb attacks caused fear and terror in Europe. While the press suspects a fight between anarchists and nationalists behind the attacks, which are primarily carried out on industrialists, Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) has suspicions. Apparently his old enemy Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) is behind the crimes. It’s important to stop him as quickly as possible. Without further ado, Watson’s (Jude Law) honeymoon is interrupted and the bride-to-be is thrown off the train – the hunt for the criminal across Europe begins.

8:15 p.m., 3Sat, Dampfnudelblues. An Eberhofer crime thriller

Provincial police officer Franz Eberhofer (Sebastian Bezzel), who lives with his talented cook but almost deaf grandmother and his weed-smoking, Beatles-loving father in Niederkaltenkirchen, Bavaria, is investigating the case of school principal Höpfl, who initially disappeared and was then run over by a train. “Die you pig,” was written on the wall of his house just a few days before. Was it murder, was it suicide? Eberhofer believes in the former. In his investigations, which are not always entirely official, he is supported by his ex-Munich colleague Rudi Birkenberger (Simon Schwarz).
