Sybille Thalheim (Stefanie Stappenbeck) wakes up in a strange hotel room with a blood-smeared knife in her hand. Everything looks like Sybille has committed murder. Sybille flees in panic. What to do? What happened? The dead man is her missing husband, the notary Michael Thalheim (Steve Windolf). A year and a half ago, Michael set off to South America with 20 million euros in embezzled client funds. Although her grief and anger towards Michael are limitless, Sybille is certain that she is not her husband’s murderer.

Disaffected New York cop Jack Mosley (Bruce Willis) just wants to go home and have a drink. At 8:02 a.m., however, he gets a seemingly simple assignment: The petty criminal Eddie Bunker (Mos Def) is supposed to testify in front of an investigative committee against corrupt police officers at 10 a.m. and has to be brought from his cell to the courthouse – that’s 16 blocks away. It would be done in 15 minutes, but suddenly everything goes wrong. A life-threatening trip begins for Mosley and Bunker.
