8:15 p.m., ZDF, The Dead from Lake Constance: The Circle of Souls, Crime

An anonymous caller directs the police to the shores of Lake Constance because a newborn was allegedly abandoned on the water. A major alarm is triggered immediately. In fact, Hannah Zeiler (Nora Waldstätten) and Micha Oberländer (Matthias Koeberlin) find the newly born baby floating in a basket on the water. On the sheet with which the basket was lined, the two inspectors discover a message hastily scribbled with ashes.

8:15 p.m., Tele 5, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Adventure

New England, 1886: Pierre (Patrick Dempsey) and Ned (Bryan Brown) look for a sea monster. Instead of a monster, they find a hypermodern submarine under the command of the charismatic captain Nemo (Michael Caine), who captures them and kidnaps them into a mysterious underwater world.

8:30 p.m., Das Erste, Zambia – In the kingdom of the lions, nature documentary

The film shows the five lions’ hard struggle for survival. The animal documentary was shot in the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. The wildlife filmmakers captured unusual lion behavior with the camera, because the outcasts leave no stone unturned in order to be allowed to return to their old pack. A dangerous strategy, but in the scorching summer heat of Zambia there is no alternative.

9.45 p.m., ONE, Turkish for beginners, comedy

19-year-old Lena Schneider (Josefine Preuß) is not exactly thrilled when her mother Doris (Anna Stieblich) forces her to go on a vacation trip to sunny Thailand. Especially not when the plane has to emerge in the middle of the Indian Ocean. While Mutti is rescued, Lena finds herself on a lonely island. But that’s not all – the Berlin testosterone man Cem Öztürk (Elyas M’Barek), his sister Yagmur (Pegah Ferydoni) and the Greek Costa (Arnel Taci) have also ended up on the remote island.

10:15 p.m., ZDF, Bombshell – The end of silence, drama

The US in 2015, shortly before the first Republican pre-election debate. Former attorney Megyn Kelly (Charlize Theron) is the star host on Fox News. Although she does not see herself as a feminist, she confronts the Republican candidate Donald Trump with his sexist remarks in front of the cameras. Trump then pulls out the journalist on his favorite platform, Twitter. His insulting comments become a psychological burden not only for Megyn.
