Price tip among the soundbars: The JBL Link Bar can do that

The JBL Link Bar at a glance

The JBL Link Bar is a device from 2019 – and that is precisely why the soundbar is quite interesting. Because at many dealers you can get the older model at a really good price of around 200 euros. You don’t have to do without much in terms of functionality: There is no Airplay connection or Amazon Alexa support, but connection options via Bluetooth, WLAN, LAN and Chromecast including Google Assistant. Even Spotify Connect has the JBL soundbar on offer. In addition, three players (e.g. television, console, streaming device) can be connected via HDMI.

In terms of sound, the JBL Link Bar ranks midfield in the test with a grade of 2.8. If you expect a better sound, you have to spend a lot more on a soundbar – you can hardly get a model with a better sound for the asking price. It is a shame, however, that the JBL model does not support a subwoofer.

Our assessment:

The JBL Link Bar is a 100-watt soundbar that does not work miracles in terms of sound, but delivers a significantly better sound than the mostly tinny and lifeless-sounding speakers that the television brings. For around 200 euros, the soundbar is a clear recommendation. If you are looking for more sound and features, you have to dig deeper into your pocket.
