In total, the group supplies the German trade with more than 300 items. These include confectionery brands such as Bounty, Snickers and Mars, Ben’s Original rice dishes and Whiskas, Sheba and Frolic pet food brands. Rewe customers will clearly feel the embargo imposed by the important supplier.
At the request of the LZ, the supermarkets Edeka and Rewe have so far made no statement on this. The background to the escalating conflict, however, is that Mars is “demanding incomprehensible price increases,” which the Edeka prospectus has already denounced as “mars’ moon prices.”
