Anker is stocking up on batteries and has notably launched MagSafe compatible models with the release of Apple’s iPhone 12. A range updated quite often, which here sees the PowerCore Magnetic 5K version pass under our test bench.
Highlights
Compactness.
Featherweight.
Foldable crutch.
Weak points
Slow charging.
Small capacity.
Single USB port.
Only 12 W delivered.
Anker’s PowerCore Magnetic 5K is a good MagSafe battery, but a powerbank disappointing. To troubleshoot the battery of an iPhone equipped with MagSafe, it is essential (especially when traveling). But when it comes to charging another product, it is much less convincing, largely because of its low real capacity compared to what its technical sheet announces. Note also its fairly long recharge since it only accepts 12 W. You will therefore have to remember to charge it when you come home in the evening or during the night to take advantage of the device.
Alternatively
Despite a real capacity very different from that announced, the 10400 mAh Power Bank battery from Charmast should not be completely banned. It offers a good boost to your smartphones, and quite quickly thanks to its USB-C port capable of delivering 18 W of power. Too bad it’s not a speed champion when it comes to refueling .
