Mato Anomalies, the game that has good Doe

With Genshin Impact, we have seen that Chinese studios can make ambitious games strongly inspired by those of the Japanese archipelago and especially in the artistic direction with an anime/manga style. A path taken Arrowiz for its dystopian RPG, Mato Anomalies. A quick look at the trailer below is enough to immediately make us curious.

The title will make us embody Detective Doe, a protagonist who will have to discover what is hidden behind the invasion of Mato by supernatural creatures. He will be accompanied by a mysterious exorcist named Gram. While exploring the metropolis (described as a neo-futuristic take on Old Shanghai) and solving the investigation will be an integral part of the game, it will remain a JRPG at heart with dungeons to explore and turn-based combat.

In addition to chatting with many NPCs to advance the investigation, you will be able to recruit new allies. In addition, we can apparently expect link reinforcements in a way personas.

About the agreement with Prime Matter, Horace Xiong, CEO of Arrowiz tells us this:

“We can’t wait to share the game we’ve been working on for over two years now. Our creative team imagined a deep story as well as a unique universe, that of Mato Anomalies, whose passion gave life to the design. More than 50 talented people are involved in this project, not including external partners. We are encouraged by our partner Prime Matter who believes in our studio and our global vision.”

Mario Gerhold, Global Brand & Marketing Director at Prime Matter says:

“We are thrilled to partner with Arrowiz for this release. Mato Anomalies fits perfectly into our extensive portfolio of quality games. Given the studio’s high ambition, this combination is a perfect fit for Prime Matter and we look forward to supporting the team with our local and global publishing and marketing expertise.”

Mato Anomalies is scheduled for 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC in dematerialized and physical version. It will have texts in French and will offer the choice between English and Japanese voices.
