Prime Video is releasing Season 2 of Cruel Summer today. Plot, casting, number of episodes… we tell you everything.

In 2021, you surely did not miss Cruel Summer, the teen series co-produced by Jessica Biel, of which Prime Video bought the rights. She had created a surprise and received more than positive reviews from the press and spectators. The latter were caught up in the story of Kate, a popular girl who disappears overnight. Suspicions quickly weigh on a high school friend…

Its rating of 3.9/5 according to AlloCiné viewers makes it one of the most popular teen series of the moment with The summer when I became pretty, also available on Prime Video. And after two years of waiting, she’s finally back but with a few changes.

It is with an almost identical recipe that Cruel Summer returns for its season 2 on Prime Video, after a broadcast on Freeform in the United States. Anthology obliges, the plot and the casting change but the promise remains the same with a new mystery, revelations and reversals of situation… until the last scene which comes to question everything (as for the first season).

This season 2 will focus on the friendship between three 17-year-old teenagers that is turned upside down when one of them is murdered. Between dark secrets, illicit tapes and toxic romance, the victim had no shortage of enemies. The action takes place this time between 1999 and 2000. Sadie Stanley (The Goldbergs), Lexi Underwood (Little Fires Everywhere) and Griffin Gluck (Locke and Key) form this new trio.
