Once you start intensely binge-watching a new original series or an old series that smacks of nostalgia, it’s very difficult to stop. And with streaming platforms making all the episodes available, viewing can last for hours if you get caught up in the plot.
Especially since streaming services only leave a few seconds at the end of an episode before a new chapter begins directly. Which is very practical when you are comfortably seated on your sofa and want to watch a season in one go.
But it is much less so when we want to impose screen time, when the lack of sleep is felt or when we do not want our children to spend too much time in front of the television or on the computer, especially when it comes to ultra popular series.
And the Prime Video platform will soon offer two new original series from well-known pop culture universes: The Continental, a series derived from the John Wick franchise and GEN V, a spin-off from The Boys.
You will surely want to enjoy the episodes of these upcoming highly anticipated fiction films so don’t panic, there is a simple solution to limit your viewing hours and/or those of your children on the Prime Video platform.
If you don’t like the feature also called autoplay, you can completely deactivate it on Prime Video.
Nothing could be simpler for this. Simply slide the cursor over your profile icon at the top right of the platform’s home page to bring up several options. You then go to the tab Accounts and settings.
You then select the tab Drive. You then have as a first option Autoplay (described as follows: “the next available video starts automatically. For series, when you finish an episode, the next one starts automatically.”).
All you have to do is check Disabled so that the autoplay functionality is no longer activated. And here you are, free to control your screen time and enjoy your viewing of your favorite fiction and new series to come on Prime Video !
