Prime Video: this French series becomes number 1 on the platform and dethrones The Last of Us

Just a few days after it was posted on Prime Video, the platform’s new original creation, “Coeurs Noirs”, was at the top of the most-watched programs ahead of “The Last of Us”.

This Friday, February 3, Coeurs noirs, the new original French creation from Prime Video, landed on the platform. Carried by Nicolas Duvauchelle, Marie Dompnier (Les Witnesses), Tewfik Jallab (Engrenages), Nina Meurisse (Mixed), Jérémy Nadeau and Thierry Godard, this series of 6 episodes takes us to Iraq, in October 2016, on the eve of the battle of Mosul and follows the daily life of the members of a French Special Forces commando.

These men and women have the mission to find and exfiltrate the daughter and grandson of an important French Emir of Daesh whom they have captured and who will only cooperate with them on this condition.

Directed by Ziad Doueiri, who notably worked on Baron Noir, and created by Duong Dang-Thai and Corinne Garfin, who were screenwriters on The Office of Legends (which will be entitled to an American remake headed by George Clooney), this new original creation very quickly received the approval of critics and Internet users, to the point of placing itself in the first place of the most viewed programs on Amazon Prime Video in France.

Black Hearts even managed to beat the juggernaut that is The Last of Us, the post-apocalyptic series adapted from the famous video game franchise worn by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. A feat for a French series released only a few days ago.

Prime Video: this war series is a real slap in the face… and it’s French!

And after the failure of Mixte, which did not get a season 2 despite positive reviews, this surprise success may push the platform to order a new burst of episodes.
