While it already offers the Hunger Games films, the Amazon platform has since today welcomed another dystopian saga for teens: Divergent.
Twilight, Hunger Games, The Labyrinth, Percy Jackson, Divergent… The 2010s saw many film adaptations of literary sagas for teenagers flourish, all having met with varying degrees of success.
If the first two mentioned have thus become real phenomena, others like Number Four or The Mortal Instruments have not even exceeded the first episode. And in the middle, we find Divergent, whose three opuses are available since today on Prime Video.
Course accident
If the adventure had started rather well by offering the public a new original post-apocalyptic world in which individuals are divided into five factions, according to whether they are more courageous, intelligent, sincere, kind or generous, it ended in blood sausage juice.
Indeed, after the adaptations of the first two novels – Divergent and Divergent 2: The Insurrection – the production made the choice to divide Veronica Roth’s third book into two parts, as was done a lot at the time. Unfortunately, Divergent 3: Beyond the Wall did not meet the expected success at the box office and the conclusion of the saga therefore never saw the light of day.
There was talk of the fourth feature film becoming a TV movie supposed to launch a series in the Divergent universe, but none of the actors in the saga were interested and the project ended up being abandoned, leaving fans unsatisfied. .

Revelations and big names
Despite everything, the Divergent trilogy will have made it possible to introduce Shailene Woodley to the general public, who embodies the heroine Beatrice who does not fall into any of the categories and is therefore a Divergent whom the government seeks to eliminate.
But also Miles Teller (currently starring in Top Gun 2) and Ansel Elgort (recently seen in West Side Story), whom Woodley has found in other projects (The Spectacular Now, The Fault in Our Stars), or even Theo James (now star of The Time Traveler’s Wife series).
They were also accompanied by more knowledgeable actors like Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts, Jeff Daniels and Octavia Spencer. And to see all these beautiful people in action, it is therefore on the Amazon platform that it is happening!
