Prime Video: this superhero series adored by the public soon to be adapted for cinema?

This superhero series which is a hit on the Prime Video platform could soon be the subject of a cinema adaptation!

Its second season will be broadcast this Friday, November 3, and a season 3 has already been ordered. But the animated series Invincible has no shortage of projects, as demonstrated by the special episode devoted to Atom Eve broadcast this summer.

At the same time, the superhero series by Robert Kirkman (the creator of The Walking Dead) has for several years been the subject of a live-action adaptation project intended for the cinema.

Postponed due to Covid then put on hold due to the screenwriters’ strike, this feature film project does not yet have a filming date, but remains in active development as confirmed by the American screenwriter.

In an interview given to our colleagues at Variety, Robert Kirkman thus clarified that the writing of the film was still at an early stage. But things could however accelerate as soon as the scenario is “where it belongs”.

Once the scenario is where it needs to be, then we will be in a position that will then allow us to move forward very quickly. (…) We will also have to find a way to differentiate ourselves from the animated series, and give the film a good reason to exist. There is still a lot of work to be done. But everyone is optimistic.

The film Invincible is, as a reminder, developed by Seth Rogen, in collaboration with his partner Evan Goldberg. Remember that the Canadian actor and screenwriter already participates in the animated series Invincible, since he lends his voice to the character of Allen the Alien.

The first four episodes of the new season of Invincible can be found on November 3 on Prime Video. The second part of season 2 (also four episodes) will be broadcast in 2024.
