Prince Amedeo and his wife Princess Elisabetta keep their private lives out of the public eye as much as possible. The Belgian Archduke and his wife are now addressing their followers via Instagram with this beautiful message: Their third child is born.

In 2017, Prince Amedeo, 37, and his wife Princess Elisabetta, 35, moved to Switzerland, where they live in seclusion with their children Anna Astrid and Maximilian. All the better that they share this happy news with the public: Elisabetta gave birth to another child. So now there are five of them!

Prince Amedeo and Princess Elisabetta: Now there are five of them

The Archduke of Austria-Este and his wife publish a first photo of their newborn on the official Instagram account of the Belgian Royals. It reads: “Prince Amedeo and Princess Elisabetta are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Alix, who was born in Brussels early this morning on Saturday September 2nd. Alix weighs 3.4kg, her and her mother I’m fine.” The little girl is sleeping peacefully in the photo. Lilli had not made her third pregnancy public. So the Belgian royal baby is a happy surprise for the public.

Family lives withdrawn in Switzerland

The family has lived in Switzerland since 2017, but little Alix was apparently supposed to be a native Belgian, which is why she saw the light of day in Brussels. The family of five, who use the surname Habsburg-Lorraine in everyday life, now live in a mansion on Marschalkenstrasse.

“My family and I are really happy in Basel,” Amedeo once told the Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws. “It’s a beautiful city that I like very much, it’s human, I like the museums, I like walking along the Rhine and in the summer I even swim in the river from time to time.”

Now he will soon be able to present his adopted home to his newborn daughter.
