Royals from all over the world came to Windsor Castle for the memorial service for the late ex-King Constantine of Greece (1940-2023). King Charles III and Constantine II were not only second cousins, but also long-time good friends. The last king of Greece was also Prince William’s godfather. Constantine II was the last king of the Hellenes from 1964 until the abolition of the Greek monarchy in 1973. After decades of exile, he only returned to Greece in 2013. Charles’ father, Prince Philip (1921-2021), was also of Greek descent and the cousin of Paul of Greece (1901-1964), the father of Constantine II.
