Prince Andrew: Did He Help Jeffrey Epstein Make a Better Deal?

Was it really Prince Andrew who gave Jeffrey Epstein a shorter sentence in 2008? New documents could burden the Royal.

Newly released court documents continue to trouble Prince Andrew (60). Two unidentified victims of Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019) are said to claim that the Duke of York has given the US government a good word for the deceased US billionaire and convicted sex offender. There is talk of alleged lobbying to achieve a "cheaper deal in criminal proceedings" for Epstein.

What role did the Royal really play?

The two victims, listed only as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2, are said to have applied for release of the documents to prove Prince Andrew's involvement in the Epstein scandal. According to the British newspaper "The Independent", the documents come from an enclosed defamation lawsuit from 2015. It was filed by Virginia Roberts Giuffre (36), a suspected victim of Epstein, against his confidante Ghislaine Maxwell (58).

The documents say that Prince Andrew campaigned for Epstein – accused of sexual violence against minors – to get away with an advantageous deal. In fact, there was never any trial before a federal court at that time. Epstein reached an out-of-court settlement with the public prosecutor. In 2008, he pleaded guilty to forced prostitution of a minor and received an 18-month prison sentence in mild conditions. He was released after 13 months.
