In the High Court in London on April 1, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson appeared in the trial between Nebahat Isbilen, a Turkish septuagenarian, and Selman Turk, a Turkish businessman based in London to whom she would have entrusted with placing its assets outside of Turkey. According to official documents, thehe prince and his ex-wife are said to have received “significant sums” from this ex-banker, accused of embezzling 40 million pounds. The money paid to the Duke of York included a £750,000 payment made in November 2019, days after Selman Turk won a prize in the prince’s contractor competition. Turk and Prince Andrew’s office reportedly later told their bankers that the sum was a “wedding gift” for Princess Beatrice, who married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020. Sarah Ferguson would have pocketed 225,000 pounds and Princess Eugenie, 25,000 pounds. According to The Telegraph, the Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie never knew about their parents’ relationship with Selman Turk. In a statement sent to People moreover, August’s mother denied any involvement in this affair. “On March 31, 2022, I received a letter from Peters & Peters lawyers representing their client Nebahat Evyap Isbilen in his complaint against Mr. Selman Turk and various companies”explained Eugenie.

Sarah Ferguson ‘didn’t know at all’

“I was surprised to receive this letter, which asked me to explain two payments made to my bank account in October 2019, which I understood to be gifts from a longtime friend of the family to contribute to the expenses of a surprise party for the sixtieth birthday of my mother, Sarah, Duchess of York”added Princess Eugenie. Like her, Sarah Ferguson would not have been made aware of anything in this affair. “The Duchess was completely unaware of the allegations that have since emerged against Mr Turk. She is understandably concerned about what has been alleged against her,” said one of its representatives. As for Prince Andrew, neither he nor his lawyers have spoken since the revelation of this new big money affair.
