Scandal Prince Andrew reportedly does not want to withdraw from the public. He should already be planning a new gig.

Prince Andrew (62) apparently does not want to withdraw from the public. After his central role at the memorial service for Prince Philip (1921-2021) on March 29 at Westminster Abbey, he is reportedly already planning his next appearance. According to The Sun, he wants his mother, Queen Elizabeth II (95), at a service as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The ceremony will take place at London’s St Paul’s Cathedral in early June.

According to the report, Prince Andrew is not bothered when “public opinion is against him”. The Duke of York is said to have been “encouraged” by the Queen’s recent decision to pose alongside him at Westminster Abbey. The Queen drove from Windsor to London with her son and let him guide her to her seat at the event, which was watched by millions. British media reports later claimed that other senior members of the royal family had only recently been informed. There are also said to have been disagreements among palace employees.

Scandal Prince wants to stay at the Queen’s side

Prince Andrew had made numerous negative headlines in recent years. The Royal only settled an abuse lawsuit by Virginia Giuffre (38) before a US court out of court in February. Andrew, who is said to have paid millions to Giuffre, has always denied the allegations against him.

According to the Daily Mail, palace officials expected the Duke of York to disappear from public life after the service at Westminster Abbey. Apparently that is not the case. He is said to be determined to attend the service at St Paul’s on June 3.

While he accepts that he no longer plays a major role as a core member of the royal family, there will be family events he wants to attend, an insider said, according to The Sun.

Serious allegations

The allegations against Prince Andrew in connection with the scandal involving convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019) have caused considerable damage to the royal’s reputation. In January, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Andrew would no longer be referred to as “His Royal Highness” and that his official duties and patronage would be transferred to other members of the royal family.

He was also stripped of his honorary military titles and defended himself as a private citizen in the Giuffre case. Just a few days after a failed interview with the “BBC” in November 2019, he resigned from his public offices.
