Prince Andrew spoke about his late father, Prince Philip, and how Queen Elizabeth II is doing after the loss.

A service for Prince Philip, who passed away last Friday at the age of 99, was held in the All Saints Chapel on the grounds of the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, Berkshire. After the service, Prince Andrew (61), Prince Edward (57) and Sophie von Wessex (56) according to the British Daily Mail short statements about the deceased family member and about Queen Elizabeth II (94), who has to cope with the loss of her husband.

Prince Andrew described his father’s death as a “great loss”. He was “a remarkable man,” he said. “I loved him as a father. He was so calm. He was always someone to go to. We lost the nation’s grandfather.” His mother Queen Elizabeth II felt the loss and “the great emptiness in life” the most of all. But she is a “very stoic” person and describes the death of her husband as a “miracle”. Her family and close circle gathered around her, “to make sure that we are there for her,” the prince explained.

The family is touched by the great sympathy

Even if you try to prepare for it, it is still a shock in the end and “very, very sad”, added his brother Prince Edward. “But the extraordinary tribute and memories everyone had with him and was willing to share were so fantastic.”

His wife Sophie von Wessex said that the Queen is currently not thinking of herself, but primarily of others. She also described Prince Philip’s final moments: “It was so gentle. It was like someone took him by the hand and he walked away. It was very, very peaceful and that’s all you could want for someone , Is not it?”

Together with her daughter Princess Louise (17), her husband and her brother-in-law, Sophie von Wessex personally thanked employees of the Windsor estate for their support over the past few days, such as the palace, after the service on Instagram explained.
