The Queen’s dogs remain in the royal family. Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson should take care of the four-legged friends.

Prince Andrew (62) and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (62) will take care of the Queen’s corgis after the death of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). A spokesman for the Duke of York said according to The Guardianthat he and Sarah Ferguson will take in the four-legged friends named Muick and Sandy. The two dogs were given to the Queen by Andrew and his family.

In 2021, Prince Andrew gave his mother the corgi Muick as well as Fergus, a dorgi. After Fergus died, another corgi named Sandy took his place – a gift from Andrew’s daughters, Princesses Beatrice, 34, and Eugenie, 32, for the Queen’s 95th birthday. Prince Andrew and “Fergie” have been divorced since 1996, but remain close friends. They live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. Ferguson is also said to have stayed connected with the Queen.

Prince Andrew has resigned from public duties over his involvement in the Epstein scandal. According to the “Guardian”, royal expert Ingrid Seward said over the weekend about the possible new dog owners: “It seems very logical that the corgis go to Andrew … Let’s be honest, he has nothing else to do.”

Queen was a big Corgi fan

The Queen’s great love for Corgis was well known. She is said to have once said that “my corgis are family”. Over the course of her life, she has owned more than 30 of the dogs, mostly descended from her first corgi lady, Susan. The dog was a present for her 18th birthday.
