Prince Andrew: Isn't he welcome to Prince Philips 100th birthday?

In the coming year there will be big celebrations for the 100th birthday of Prince Philip. One of his sons could be missing.

Prince Philip will be 100 years old on June 10, 2021. And although there are still a few months until then, the palace is already planning what the bigger celebrations will look like. One is apparently not welcome: Prince Andrew (60).

It still seems unclear whether there will be a birthday parade for Philip. But the "Sun" reports that there are already plans for a photo exhibition – according to insiders, with the instruction that there should not be too many references to Prince Andrew in it. The son of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II (94) had to resign from his royal duties last year because of his friendship with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019).

How much of Andrew is there?

According to the "Sun" there should be "a warning from above" as to Andrew. "He is involved as little as possible," said an anonymous source about the photo exhibition. You can't let him out completely. But his relationship with his father in recent years should therefore not play a major role. "Obviously this is proving difficult because he is his son and his role in the family is being played down." For Prince Andrew's 60th birthday in February, the palace had also waived major celebrations.

Prince Andrew and the Epstein Scandal

Virginia Roberts Giuffre, 37, who is said to have been a victim of Epstein, claims she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew several times. The first time she was only 17 years old. The British Royal denies all of the allegations. In a TV interview for "Newsnight" in November 2019, the prince spoke about his relationship with Epstein. Prince Andrew had resigned from his royal duties after the interview, which turned into a PR disaster. He had neither condemned Epstein's actions nor showed any compassion for the victims.
