Gorilla babies apparently make Prince Charles’ heart beat faster.

Prince Charles is known to have a passion for conservation – and apparently also for endangered gorilla babies.

Prince Charles (73) has on Instagram presented a special heart project. Queen Elizabeth’s eldest son (96), who has been passionate about nature conservation for years, was given the task of naming one of 20 gorilla babies at this year’s gorilla naming ceremony Kwita Izina in Rwanda. “Introducing the little boy Ubwuzuzanye!”, The royals write about a cute photo of their animal godchild.

The naming ceremony took place on September 2nd during a multi-hour event in Rwanda at which Charles connected virtually became. In it he also explains the background to his choice of name: “The name I give it is Ubwuzuzanye, which means harmony, since restoring harmony between nature, people and planet is the most critical problem facing humanity.”

Rwanda is of great importance to the royals

Charles was “happy” about his role as namesake. He also spoke about his trip to Rwanda in June this year, during which his wife Duchess Camilla (75) accompanied him. The big meeting of the Commonwealth nations took place in the capital Kigali. The royal couple also visited a wildlife sanctuary during their stay.
