One of the highlights of the visit is a reception on the Giza Plateau with a view of the pyramids. The event aims to celebrate the connection between the two countries. On the last day of their trip, Charles and Camilla set off for the ancient city of Alexandria.

Their last stay together in Egypt was in 2006, Charles last visited Jordan in 2015 and Camilla in 2013. Because of the corona pandemic, the royal couple did not travel last autumn. In 2019 the two were on their autumn trip to India, New Zealand and the Solomon Islands.
