Prince Charles: He’s giving Prince Harry the cold shoulder

Prince Charles has no plans to meet his son Prince Harry in person when he travels to the UK in late June.

Sad development among the English royals: Prince Charles, 72, plans not to see his son Prince Harry, 36, when he travels to England at the end of this month. Harry flies to London to inaugurate a statue in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on July 1st with his brother Prince William, 38, on the occasion of the 60th birthday of their late mother Princess Diana, † 36.

Prince Charles: No discussion with Prince Harry

Prince Charles was planning to stay more than 400 miles away on his Scottish estate in Balmoral at this point, a palace source told The Sun. “Charles has made it very clear that he is not available to meet Prince Harry because he is in Scotland at the time,” the source told the British newspaper. So the longed-for reconciliation talk between Charles and his youngest son that so many had wished for after all the rifts will not come about.

Prince Harry flies to England at the end of June

Harry is expected to land in the UK in late June, before the statue is unveiled. Duchess Meghan, 39, is reported to have considered accompanying her husband and had to stay in the background at the London appointment. However, she has since canceled her trip. Back in the UK, the Duke of Sussex will have to be quarantined for five days and will likely be serving that time at Frogmore Cottage before meeting Prince William for the inauguration of the Diana statue.

Prince Charles plans to leave the boys to their own devices

“The boys will do it together out of respect for their mother,” reports another source to “The Sun” and adds that the warring brothers want to keep their speeches separate from each other. “The two only communicate with each other via short messages, there were no real conversations between them to organize the event,” said the palace insider about the brothers who were once so close. “The relationship is still very tense and there are still no signs that there will be a reconciliation in the foreseeable future.” Charles plans to leave the boys to their own devices.

As reported by the British media, the 72-year-old heir to the throne is said to have avoided any one-to-one conversations with Harry when he arrived in April for the memorial service for Prince Philip, † 99. Harry has admitted that he was “worried and afraid” to return to the funeral and meet his family. Years of therapy sessions made Harry better able to cope with the stress and anxiety that day. Harry had blamed his father in an interview having passed on “a lot of genetic pain and suffering”.
