Prince Charles: Now he's talking about his corona infection

Prince Charles (71) was infected with the corona virus in March. The illness was "fairly easy" for him, he said in an interview with "Sky News". "I was lucky in my case … but I was lucky and I can understand what other people have been through." The British heir to the throne had quarantined at his Scottish country home in Birkhall after testing positive for the virus. The palace said Charles had mild symptoms.

Charles also expressed his sympathy for those who have lost family or friends in the interview. "I particularly feel with those who have lost their loved ones and could not be with them during this time. That is the most terrible thing for me," said the 71-year-old.

Focus on nature again

This experience made him more determined to fight for nature to be at the "center" again. Before that, nature was simply marginalized, "we exploited and dug up and cut down everything as if there was no tomorrow, as if it didn't matter". If you learn nothing from the pandemic, people could face a similar threat in the future, said Charles: "The more we erode the natural world, the more we destroy biodiversity and we face this type of danger." A way had to be found to "put nature back in the center".
