Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla paid tribute to late music entrepreneur Jamal Edwards in an Instagram post.

Prince Charles (73) has in an Instagram post Jamal Edwards (1990-2022). The founder of the influential music channel SBTV on YouTube died last Sunday at the age of 31, as did his management reported to the BBC. “His work in music, but also as an ambassador for a new generation, including his work for The Prince’s Trust, has been an inspiration to so many,” reads the official account post by Charles and wife Duchess Camilla (74).

A picture was published that captured a meeting between the 73-year-old and Edwards. The Prince’s Trust is an organization founded by Prince Charles in 1976 to help young people from difficult backgrounds.

For his services to the music scene, Jamal Edwards was appointed MBE by the British royal family in 2015, Member of the Order of the British Empire. In addition to his career as a musician and entrepreneur, he campaigned for education about mental illness.

Other stars and personalities have bid farewell to Edwards on social media. Rita Ora wrote for shared pictures: “My very first interview was with you. […] No words can describe how grateful I am to have been in your presence. Thank you for everything you’ve ever shown me.”

Actor and rapper Adam Deacon (38) wrote in two tweets: “Jamal was one of the nicest, down to earth and humble men I have met in this industry. He was an inspiration and what he has achieved in life has been truly remarkable. London Mayor Sadiq Khan (51) tweeted: “The British music and entertainment industry has lost one of its brightest stars”. He expressed his condolences to the family.
