He pays tribute to his father
In TV interviews, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward paid tribute to their late father.
Prince Philip died on April 9, 2021 at the age of 99. In TV reports, Prince Charles, 72, Princess Anne, 70, Prince Andrew, 61, and Prince Edward, 57, commemorate their father. The interviews are said to have been recorded before Prince Philips’ death.
Prince Charles remembers
In a BBC feature on Prince Philips’ life, Prince Charles said of his father, according to British media reports, “He was very good at showing you how to do things and teaching you different things.” And the heir to the throne added, “His energy was amazing, how he supported my mother for such a long time and in an extraordinary way.”
Prince Andrew: “We sat together on the sofa and he read to us”
Prince Andrew recalls: “Like any other family at the time, parents went to work during the day. But in the evening, just like any other family, we met, sat together on the sofa and he read to us.”
Princess Anne said of Prince Philip: “I think I remember best that he was always there.” You could discuss ideas with him, “and if you had problems, you could always go to him and know that he would listen and try to help”.

For Prince Edward, his father was “always a great source of support and encouragement and guidance along the way and he never tried to limit any activity or anything we tried and wanted to do, but always encouraged us”. He will always remember that, said Edward.
