Prince Charles paid a visit to St Bartholomew’s Hospital and thanked Prince Philips nurses.

International Nurses Day will be celebrated on May 12th in honor of UK nurses. Prince Charles (72) took this as an opportunity and visited St Bartholomew’s Hospital on May 11th. There he thanked the carers who had taken care of his late father Prince Philip (1921-2021), as announced in an Instagram post on the Clarence House account. The son of Queen Elizabeth II (95) also asked hospital staff about the progress of the restoration work, which the oldest hospital in Great Britain wants to complete before its 900th anniversary in 2023.

In mid-March, Prince Philip returned home after spending a month in two London clinics. In mid-February, the 99-year-old was admitted to a private clinic in London and transferred to St Bartholomew’s Hospital a few days later for a heart operation. He was then taken back to King Edward VII’s Hospital. The Duke of Edinburgh “died peacefully at Windsor Castle on the morning of April 9,” said an official statement from the British royal family on the death of the Prince Consort.
