On Saturday, November 11, 2023, Prince Daniel finally celebrated his big birthday. The atmosphere at the party in the castle is said to have been relaxed and the guest list was top-class.
Prince Daniel turned 50 on September 15th. A memorable birthday, which, however, coincided with another important event: King Carl Gustaf, 77, 50th anniversary of the throne. Accordingly, the focus was on the Swedish monarch. A little later, the court finally confirmed that Princess Victoria’s husband, 46, would postpone the celebration of his special day to November 11, 2023. Revealed shortly before the party Court information chief Margareta Thorgren also provided further details to “Svensk Damtidning”: “It is a private celebration that is taking place in the royal palace. The prince wanted a larger but private celebration.”
Now the time had finally come: Prince Daniel invited people to the royal castle and apparently enjoyed a successful and cheerful evening.
Prince Daniel celebrates his birthday with 200 guests
As “Svensk Damtidning” reports, the guests arrived at the castle around 7 p.m. and were then taken to the ballroom, where the big party took place. In addition to family members, including Daniel’s cousin Andreas Westling with his wife Amanda and cousin Sara Westling, the prince welcomed numerous friends. With 200 people, the number of his guests exceeds that of “normal royal dinners”, as a maximum of 150 are invited. Daniel’s friends Sofia Schörling and Anders Högberg as well as Carolina Klüft and husband Peter were beaming as they made their way into the castle.
Princess Madeleine, 41, and Chris O’Neill, 49, were not present, but it was already known that they would not be traveling from the USA for the occasion. “They congratulated the prince when they were last in Sweden. “Unfortunately, they will not be able to attend the celebration,” Thorgren told the publication Madeleine’s best friend Louise Thott and her husband Gustav celebrate the Royal. Although Daniel’s parents Ewa and Olle Westling, 78, and his sister Anna, 53, were not seen, they were most likely present. They were probably already in the castle by the time the rest of the guests arrived to avoid the flashbulbs.
Top-class guest list and exuberant atmosphere
Sweden’s high society also gathered at Stockholm Palace. Also the successful entrepreneur Jacob De Geer, 48, actor and director Felix Herngren, 56, and H&M magnate Stefan Persson didn’t miss the celebration of their good friend. A special highlight was the presence of “Kent” frontman Jocke Berg, 53. It’s no secret that Prince Daniel is a big fan of the band. However, it was not previously known that he was friends with the singer.
A three-course meal was initially served in the ballroom. Afterwards there was enough time for dancing – Prince Daniel is said to have celebrated with his friends until the early hours of the morning. Looks like it was worth waiting two months for the 50-year-old to have his party.
