Congratulations! On Thursday, July 20, 2023, Prince Haakon will celebrate his big birthday. The heir to the Norwegian throne has turned 50. In just a few weeks, his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, will follow. On August 19, she celebrates her half-century. In the evening, King Harald’s son, 86, took the time to thank the royal family’s official Instagram account with loving words for the many congratulations that have reached him. Prince Haakon: Palace surprises with private vacation photos of his family
The Scandinavian royal families are not stingy: both the Danish and the Swedish royals congratulate Prince Haakon on social media on his big day with many old and newer snapshots. As is well known, the best comes last: in the early evening hours, the farm published several private holiday moments from Haakon’s family.

Rare moment: Haakon shows up with Marius Borg Høiby
In addition to three shots with his daughter Princess Ingird Alexandra, 19, the future heir to the throne, there is also a picture of son Sverre Magnus, 17, and even a photo with Mette-Marit’s son Marius Borg Høiby, 26 – an absolute rarity!
