Prince Harry
He receives a warm welcome in front of London Cathedral
Prince Harry attends a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, to mark the Invictus Games. The dropout royal receives an extremely warm welcome there. This should be a small consolation for Harry after King Charles’ rejection.
A hard blow for Harry, but one that has now perhaps been dampened a little: When he arrives at St. Paul’s Cathedral in the British capital, the 39-year-old is greeted with thunderous applause.
Prince Harry is cheered upon his arrival in front of the cathedral
At around 6:00 p.m. German time, Prince Harry arrives in front of the cathedral in London. He gets out of the car in a dark blue suit emblazoned with his military insignia and runs up the stairs. The waiting crowd claps and cheers upon his arrival, as evidenced by several clips circulating on social media. Duchess Meghan’s husband, 42, turns around on the steps beaming with joy and waves to the royal fans present – which only makes the cheering louder.
Finally, Prince Harry is greeted by a clergyman and they enter the church together. During the service, “Homeland” star Damian Lewis, 53, reads the poem “Invictus” by William Ernest Henley in honor of the sporting event for disabled soldiers. A little later, according to “Express”, Prince Harry gives a reading from 1 Corinthians 12. 4-11 before giving a sermon with a series of readings.

Duke of Sussex receives support from Diana’s family
Princess Diana, †36, sister Jane Spencer, 67, her brother Charles Spencer, 59, and his son Louis Spencer, 30, are also present at the special event. However, no other members of the British royal family are there. Just a stone’s throw from Harry’s event, King Charles is instead celebrating the first garden party of the year at Buckingham Palace with Queen Camilla, 76, Princess Anne, 73, Prince Edward, 60, and Duchess Sophie, 59.
