Should Harry and Meghan continue to call themselves Duke and Duchess of Sussex? No, thinks almost half of the British now.

The fact that Prince Harry (36) went one better after the explosive Oprah interview and again massively attacked the royal family is increasingly resented by the British population, both him and Duchess Meghan (39). A new poll from the polling site “YouGov.co.uk” 44 percent of all respondents found that the two should be deprived of any titles of nobility.

As a reminder: The term “Royal Highness” has not graced their letterhead for over a year. Officially, they are still Duke and Duchess of Sussex – and more and more people are going against the grain. Only 17 percent of the nearly 5,000 respondents over the age of 18 still believe that they should neither lose nor stop using their titles. On the other hand, 20 percent think that they may continue to be Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but should no longer call themselves that in public. Another 20 percent abstained from saying “I don’t know”.

Harry’s recent allegations on the Armchair Expert podcast were particularly badly received by the elderly. In the age groups 50 and over, the majority is in favor of giving up the title of nobility. Harry had said in the conversation, among other things, that he had gone to the USA to break the cycle of “pain and suffering” in his family. In terms of upbringing, he experienced the pain that his father Charles (72) has probably already experienced. The fact that he indirectly reproached his grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II (95) and Prince Philip (1921-2021), triggered a storm of indignation.
