Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: "Archewell" website was hijacked by hackers

This is probably not how the two started their independence: After Duchess Meghan (38) and Prince Harry (35) announced their new charity foundation "Archewell" at the beginning of the week, there is already the first setback for that Pair.

New website leads to Kanye West's "Gold Digger"

Because Harry and Meghan probably forgot to register a website domain for their new foundation. And so so-called "cybersquatters" made it fun to create the website "www.archewellfoundation.com". However, this did not list all of the charities or projects of the Sussexes, but directly to the YouTube video of Kanye West's hit "Gold Digger". In German: someone who is only out for money.

Attentive Twitter users noticed this on Wednesday. It is unclear who is behind it. However, something seems to have happened in the meantime, because on Thursday morning the website was no longer available. Instead, just an error message that the address could not be found. Apparently Harry and Meghan have already solved the problem.

What are "cybersquatters"?

So-called "cybersquatters" are users who have set themselves the task of registering domains that they are not actually entitled to, for example from celebrities or brands. They then often offer the domain for sale to the company or person – but usually at a very high price.
