Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: are you planning a Netflix documentary about Diana?

Does Harry's deal with Netflix endanger his relationship with his brother William? Allegedly, Harry and Meghan are planning a documentary about Princess Diana.

The Netflix deal between Prince Harry (35) and Duchess Meghan (39) could include a documentary about Harry's mother Diana (1961-1997). The "Sunday Mirror" reports. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have had talks about a Diana film as part of their contract, which could allegedly bring the two up to $ 150 million, the newspaper writes.

If the alleged project got the green light, Harry's brother Prince William (38) should be the first person to be informed. As the "Mirror" reports on, insiders feared that the planned documentary could further strain the relationship between the brothers, which, according to media reports, is already tense anyway.

"Early phase"

"The Sussexes are talking about a documentary about the family history and legacy of Princess Diana," the Mirror quoted an anonymous source as saying. The project is still at an early stage, "but it looks like it can be implemented". The film should therefore be a homage to Diana and focus primarily on the charity work of Harry's mother.

At the beginning of September, the "New York Times" reported that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have founded their own production company and will produce content exclusively for Netflix. The multi-year contract therefore includes the production of scripted series, documentary series, documentaries, children's formats and feature films.

"Content that gives hope"

The Sussex couple would like to dedicate themselves to matters close to their hearts in the productions and support topics that their newly founded, non-profit organization Archewell has in focus. Several projects are already under development, including a nature documentary and an animated series that focuses on inspiring women. "Through our work with various organizations, we have drawn attention to people and their concerns around the world, and now we want to create content that informs but also gives hope," the couple explains in a statement.

Harry and Meghan stepped down from their duties in the British royal family in the spring and recently bought a house in the California coastal city of Santa Barbara. The couple have lived there with their one-year-old son Archie since then. Since then, it has been eagerly awaited which career paths the two will take.
