Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: Baby Archie's first steps were so emotional

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were lucky, "thanks" to the pandemic, to have both been there with their son's first steps.

In a conversation with the non-profit organization Malala Fund, Duchess Meghan (39) and Prince Harry (36) expressed their gratitude for having had more time for their family in recent months. Especially because baby Archie is slowly discovering the world! "We were both there with his first steps," says the beaming papa in the video call. "His first run, his first fall, his first everything."

Without the global pandemic, however, there would have been a great risk that parents would "miss many of these moments," as Meghan adds. "In many ways, we are fortunate to have this time to watch it grow. Without COVID, we would travel and work more."

In an earlier interview, Meghan had already reported that Archie had settled in well in his new home in Santa Barbara. "We're very lucky with our little one. He's just so busy, he's everywhere. He keeps us busy. We're just so lucky," Meghan said of her small family.
